Nestled in the heart of the Financial District in downtown Boston, Piperi offers a fresh take on healthy Mediterranean cuisine. Their homemade Gozi bread serves as a type of pita and can be used as a wrap or eaten as chips. Choose from a plate, wrap or salad and feel free to get as creative as you’d like with the wide variety of toppings and proteins available. Piperi provides a “create your own” option and also offers suggested combinations; I sampled the suggested Chicken Mezze Plate.  All items on the menu are gluten-free with the exception of the Gozi bread and chips, so there’s no chance of confusion. The small restaurant fills up quickly and is predominantly used for takeout, although limited seating is available. Don’t be intimidated by a long line during the lunch rush – the line moves quickly and you’ll have your food in no time.  The Chicken Mezze Plate was well seasoned, healthy, and filling, and prices are extremely reasonable; less than $10 will buy you a full plate and a drink. Whether you find yourself downtown on business or sightseeing near the popular Boston Common,  Piperi is a great option for a quick, healthy lunch.
