If this isn’t proof that I’m branching out to try and find you guys the best possible healthy options, I don’t know what is – Julia’s Kitchen is a completely vegan, organic, and locally sourced café located just north of Boulder. Julia herself prepares all the food and is in the kitchen ready to answer any dietary or nutrition questions you may have. The small, cozy restaurant offers daily specials and serves breakfast, lunch, snacks, desserts, and grab-and-go items. A different “burger” special is offered each day of the week, and I sampled the Sprouted Adzuki Bean Burger, which brings me to my next point: some of the ingredients might be a bit intimidating if you’re not a vegan or into natural foods. I had no idea what an adzuki bean was before I ate at Julia’s! That being said, the food was tasty and light, and it was prepared fresh. My “burger” was $12.50, so come prepared to pay a little bit more for vegan, organic, and local ingredients. Julia’s is a haven for those with strict dietary restrictions, so stop by between 7:30 am – 7:30 pm during the week and 11 – 5 on the weekends.
