The Talisman Centre opened in Calgary in 1983 and is the second largest multi-sports complex in North America and the largest in Canada. Located just south of downtown Calgary, the Talisman centre is easily accessed by vehicle and the C-Train.

Amenities include two 8-lane 50m pools, a dive tank, two hot tubs, five gymnasiums (also used for group fitness classes), two indoor tracks (Track 1: 200m – 224m; Track 2: 140m – 152m), a spinning studio, Jugo Juice, and Good Earth Cafe. Parking is free for up to three hours while using the facility.

Group fitness classes are included with facility fees ($13.25 drop-in rate) and the schedule can be found on the website or the Talisman Centre app. Spin classes, which are very popular, are limited to 25 spots and fill up quickly for the in-demand peak hours, so make sure to sign up early! All classes require a card which can be picked up from the front desk before entering the facility. The public gym and pools are sometimes reserved by clubs for training, so don’t forget to check the availability of gyms and pool lanes online so you won’t be disappointed.

As the Talisman Centre is also host to many sporting competitions, parking may be limited on weekends and can be found under the “Alerts” section of the homepage. In the event of limited parking, there is some street parking available in the nearby neighbourhoods, but note that many areas require payment on Saturdays and are limited to two hours. With so many outstanding fitness options, the Talisman Centre is one of the best places to get in virtually any type of workout in Calgary!
