Main Terrain Art Park, a 1.7 acre green space set on top of a stormwater retention pond, is tucked into the Southside part of downtown.  Giving a nod to Chattanooga’s love of the arts, Main Terrain is anchored by sculptures and has four haiku poems inlaid into the cement path.  Three lit sculptures mark the center of the park, and the bridge parts actually spin when you turn the attached wheels.  The cement track that loops around the park is just over 1/3 of a mile long, and it’s dotted with PlayCore fitness stations including trapeze rings, pull up bars, parallel bars, and climbing walls.  If you’re staying in one of the nearby hotels, Main Terrain is a great place to go to get a workout in without being stuck in the hotel gym and without having to go all the way up to the Riverwalk.
