CorePower Yoga is a fantastic option for the traveler in need of a yoga fix. With 19 studio locations in Metro Chicago, it’s easy to find a class nearby! Based off of Vinyasa Flow, the studio offers three levels of yoga classes. The signature C1 features room-temperature power flow with a rather regimented structure, while C1.5 is slightly warmer and run more like a workshop. If you’re looking for a challenge, the C2 level is heated and features true power flow with variations and modifications throughout. The teachers like to have fun with this one, and they’ll work you as much as you want to be worked.
The Hot Power Fusion class is an amazing exercise in reinvigoration; the most heated and humid of the classes, as Vinyasa flow and Bikram are combined. Sculpt is a high energy, weighted class that focuses on full body toning. Certain studios also offer bootcamp and Ryder classes, which utilize the Ryder bikes that have a more naturalistic challenge to your balance. These classes incorporate some yoga elements, but are largely their own animal. All classes are lead with music (chosen by the instructor but tailored to the energy of the class), and the music truly does enhance the experience.
The studios offer retail, studio appreciation parties, and places to relax. The locker rooms are beautiful, and boast full showers, private bathrooms, lockers (you can get a lock at the front desks), complimentary supplies, and are comfortable and impeccably clean. The staff is simply incredible, too!. At Streeterville, my absolute favorite teachers are Kayla, Linnea, and Danielle–each has a different energy that they bring to the classes, but they all have an obvious, consuming love for the practice as well as for teaching. And they all have fun with what they are doing, which means you’ll have fun, too!
