Heart of Jerusalem Café
4587 Austin Bluffs Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO
This local favorite for Middle Eastern cuisine has received just about every “Best of Colorado Springs” award there is, and for good reason! Heart of Jerusalem Café is a family-owned and operated restaurant serving up authentic Mediterranean recipes. Although small and unassuming from the outside, there’s big flavor on the inside; Heart of Jerusalem directly imports all of its spices from Jerusalem to ensure the perfect taste. From gyros to kabob platters, salads, and the best hummus and falafel you’ll find in town, the restaurant offers something for everyone – including the kids, who have their own meal options. The menu denotes items that are vegan and gluten-free, so those with dietary restrictions can be sure of their options. The prices are reasonable, ranging from $6-9 for a sandwich and $8-10 for a platter. I sampled the Heart of Jerusalem Sandwich (a delightful combination of beef, lamb, and chicken in an authentic pita) and was very impressed by the flavor. My food was served in about 10 minutes, so it’s a great option when you’re pressed for time. With two locations in the greater Colorado Springs area, Heart of Jerusalem Café is definitely worth a visit!
