Vegans, vegetarians, and those who are gluten-free can rejoice: restaurant options do exist for you in the South! The Good Life Cafe, located in the heart of downtown Columbia, is a completely vegan, organic, and raw restaurant – the only one of its kind in the city. Every single menu item is also gluten-free, so those with dietary restrictions can breathe easily. The menu is diverse, ranging from wraps and sandwiches to soups, salads, and entrees. There is also a noodle bar with a selection of zucchini, sweet potato, daikon, and kelp noodles that can be topped with a variety of sauce. In addition to the food items on the menu, there is also a large selection of freshly made smoothies. The restaurant boasts a large selection of craft beer and wine from local breweries and vineyards and also has a selection of gluten-free beer! I sampled the tacos, which were delicious. The restaurant has a rotation of side dishes that changes daily – I had the dill sweet corn and the herbal tabouleh.
Make sure to stop by the Good Life Cafe for delicious, healthy food in downtown Columbia, whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, or otherwise! You’re sure to enjoy it.
