A trip to Los Angeles is not complete without a run or ride along the beach. More popularly known as “the boardwalk,” the Marvin Braude Bike Trail extends from the Pacific Palisades north of Los Angeles all the way south to Marina del Rey. Park on the street at a metered spot or in the parking lot on the beach at the end of Washington Boulevard (the lot fees range from $5 – $7 during the week, and can be more during the weekend). Run north towards Santa Monica along the Venice Boardwalk portion of the Ocean Front Walk and experience some of the best people watching in the city. Along the way, you’ll pass numerous street performers, a Frank Gehry architectural masterpiece, and amazing ocean views. If you’re not a runner, rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in the area and go for a relaxing ride.
