Just a short walk from the subway and city center (and with two other locations in Philadelphia), Fuel specializes in healthy, organic meals made with local ingredients whenever possible. The restaurant was recently voted “Best Healthy Menu 2012” in Best of Philadelphia, and all menu items have their nutritional information listed, including calories and Weight Watchers Points Plus. Daily specials are available, and the regular menu features wraps, paninis, salads, and smoothies. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are noted on the menu, which even offers gluten-free desserts! Food can be ordered for take out, but there are is also ample seating inside the restaurant. Brunch is offered in addition to the regular menu on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am – 4 pm. I ordered the Chicken and Gorgonzola Panini, which came in at 345 calories. The sandwich was delicious and appropriately proportioned and it tasted like it should have been worse for me! The salads are very large and filling as well. Sandwiches cost approximately $9, and the menu is reasonably priced for a filling, healthy lunch.
