Papago Park Website

Just across the street from Tempe Town Lake is the wonderful Papago Park. This natural environment offers 10.2 miles of natural trails, which are largely comprised of fine dirt and sand. Most of the trails have limited technicality and are great for an easy hike, trail run, or ride. Water, parking, and a trail map are available at the trailhead, which connects to numerous loops that runners and cyclists can piece together. Large red rock formations beckon in the park itself, some of which feature shallow caves that you can hike and climb up to for a great view of the park and the city! There are no trees to provide shade, but there are pavilions available for rest stops. With free entry and spectacular views, Papago Park is a great place to hike, run, bike, or walk your dog! Just don’t forget to bring your water bottle.
