Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt
4289 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ
Truly a gem among fitness resources in the greater Phoenix area, the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt offers 22 miles of multi-use paths and connects to Tempe Town Lake. With numerous lakes, ponds, parks, and golf courses along the route, it’s one of the most scenic trails in the area! The path is paved with concrete and plenty wide enough for cyclists and pedestrians to share its use. While some intersections require a crossing, most are avoided by pedestrian bridges or underpasses, which is extremely advantageous for cyclists in particular. Parking is available at different parks along the route, and Indian School Park is an easy choice for parking since it has water fountains, a bathroom, benches, and trash cans.
The trail is very well marked, with signage indicating the distances to upcoming parks, landmarks, and cities. The trail is extremely popular with fitness enthusiasts in the area, so remember to use trail etiquette and stay to the right of the path, as it gets very busy at peak times and is frequented by many cyclists. The Scottsdale Greenbelt is beautiful, safe, and clean and is truly one of the best locations for a long run or ride in the Phoenix area.
