Salt Lake City:

Oquirrh Lake Trail

Oquirrh Lake Trail

Oquirrh Lake Road, South Jordan, Utah

Open daily

The trail around Oquirrh Lake in the Daybreak Community of South Jordan (a suburb of Salt Lake City) is a quiet and beautiful place to enjoy a run or ride. With its cattails and tall grasses, there are many migratory birds that call the lake home for some or all of the year. Parking is free and available at any designated pullout area, so you can start the trail at any point that is convenient. The distance around the perimeter of the lake is approximately 3.2 miles, but there are bridges that cut across it in several places, making it easy to tailor the trail for any distance. If you’re up for some extra miles, you can also take a side trail located near 11400 South which cuts underneath that street and run down to the 4000 West street for a great hill workout. By adding this section to the lake, you gain an extra 3 miles in your distance along with some rolling hills and one larger hill, plus a phenomenal view of the Wasatch Mountains across the valley! You can’t beat that for a gorgeous workout.
